Coward

my name means ascent
and beauty

the ascent toward beauty
that beauty ascends

that ascent is beauty

but today I am
a coward
I believe in nothing
my arms wrap around
my self
and will not fight
or build
or love
or climb

I am trying by design
but not with reasons

my mind reaching farther
than my heart has hands
